Heat Exhaustion : (

Here I am at Daytona International Speedway, I took my son for his 24th Birthday on friday. It was very hot, I got heat exhaustion! It was so scarry, I was stumbling to the ladies room - I looked drunk. When I got in there I hung on to the bathroom sink and then I hit the floor. I guess I passed out for a second or two but I jumped right up and stated splashing water on my face. Before I got up I did see a lady walk out the door, she didn't even ask me if I was okay... I guess she thought I was drunk. Anyway, I prayed to God to get me through the rest of the day because I wasn't sure how the heck I was going to make it to even find the car in the condition I was in. He came to my rescue and after putting wet towels on my neck & sitting in the shade I recovered enough to finish out the day & watch the race - Praise God! It sure was a scarry situation, It was the first time in my entire life that happened to me.
Until Next Time - God Bless!!

My goodness! I'm glad you are okay too!

I felt like I was maybe getting it yesterday when we took the kids kayaking, i started to shake and have chills, but I sat in the car and turned the air on and got my son to bring me cold water.

It's so scary, isn't it? I can't believe that woman didn't ask if you were okay!!!

Glad you are ok....BUT.....

OK. I work for ISC (the nascar people-internatial speedway corp) as a firefighter emt. I work at the Kansas Speedway, but we are all pretty much the same. Should you every be in this situation again (and I hope you are not), go to any member of fire and rescue--we are in the stands and infield, camp grounds and pits--we are EVERYWHERE. In the stands there are at least 2 infield first aid rooms, infield has at least another one-some tracks have more. NO charge to go to one of these. They will monitor you, give you fluids adn get you cooled back off. We also give you fluids to take back to your seat after you are able (water and gatoraide).
