Having The Knack To Homeschool....

Some mom's just seem to have such a great hold on homeschooling, Take a peek at Shades of Pink's Blog I was reading over what they covered and how she goes about it - It just seems so varied and interesting that it must make learning alot of fun for her kids. Then I look at our day, all I can say about that is BORING! I have come to the conclusion that I really don't have the knack for homeschooling yet..... We go through all the motions but really I don't think Kelly is getting much from it at all. We went outside on Tues. and had our class out there and that did seem to help, even though she was distracted it seemed she remembered a bit more, but really when you are being taught in the way of blah, blah, blah how much can you remember!
It sure is cold down here in Florida this morning.... very cold!

Donna you shouldnt be so hard on yourself. My sister homeschooled 12children and because of the large family and all the work they never did anything more than readng writing and arithmetic.

One of her kids is now a history teacher. They all write and sing their own music. Her older kids are actively involved in the family business and she didnt do anything significant. She told me the other day they never did crafts cause there was never any time.

I think its easy to read blogs and thing they have it all together. People only post about the showy things they do. Believe me everyone has nitty gritty days. Take heart.

Donna,
I have been homeschooling for 3 years now and still feel inadequate. You are doing fine!!! It takes at least 2 years to get the feel for it all. Just remember we can teach our children better than anyone, we know them!!
It will be fine!!!

We do something interesting every now and then, but a lot of the time, it's blah, blah, blah here too.

I'm just hanging in there.
