Day Two....
We are still waiting to hear back from the bank if they are going to accept my son & daughter-in-law's bid for the mobile home they are hoping to buy, they offered the asking price so I can't see why they wouldn't accept it. I sure hope they hear some good news tomorrow, the waiting is wearing my daughter-in-law out.
My husband & I went to a bank today to cash our income tax refund check. Do you know they would not cash it unless we had an account with them? You would think a check from the govt. would be good as gold and you would be able to cash it any where! This is no lie, We were in the bank for one and a half hours just opening up an account with them : ( If I didn't need the money so bad I would have walked the hell out of there!! They tossed us from a teller, to the bank manager, to a gal at a desk who finally actually opened the account. Can you tell I HATE banks!! We do not have a bank on purpose, We pay all our bills with either cash or I load a pre-pay debit card. My husband cashes his paycheck at the Publix food store without a problem (they do charge a small fee for that service) so we have not needed a bank. I hope to close the account as soon as I can... since I didn't want a savings account it will cost us $10.00 a month if we go under the required $1,000 in our checking - HELLO!
The lawyer wrote back to me, and told me I took an oath when I became the executor of the wills to act according to the law and if I were to request the $10,000 be drawn out for my husband & I as per what the will states, I would be acting in violation of the PA. law! So I guess even tho I feel so strongly in my heart that each one of the ladies wanted to give us $10,000 each we will have to accept the fact that we can only get it from one of them.... The thing that dives me crazy is that the lawyer acts as though the $10,000 is pocket change, when that amount is roughly what my husband made all of last year : ( But I guess it is what it is and I have to really get a handle on my feelings about it.
On a happier note, This Sunday is Kelly's 17th Birthday!! My baby is going to be 17 years old - How is that possible???? I am going to make a cake and have my son & daughter-in-law over for cake & pizza.

What I Have Been Up To....
I can't belive it's been weeks since my last post : (
Things have been CRAZY here!!
My son & daughter-in-law decided they wanted to buy a house or mobile home, they were already paying $700.00 rent so why not put that towards something they could own they figured. We have been out looking and looking, most houses in their price range are being snapped up by investors who are renting them out. My daughter-in-law got her heart hurt a few times thinking she had found "The One" only to have it already in contract to someone else. Day after day we hit the roads in search of a home and lo and behold they found a mobile home just a short distance from our house that they really like for a great price! They put a bid in on it and we will see, Keep your fingers crossed....
In other news, Remember those two wills that I am the executor of? Well two of the people listed in the wills have passed away already : ( That was one of my worst fears, that by taking so long to get these wills distributed that the folks wouldn't be around to enjoy the money and sure enough it's true. I'm still trying to get the $10,000 stated in the first will for my husband & myself. I just can't understand if the gal had a savings account & checking account that half of that amount in there would not be considered her assests???? They are telling me that since the accounts were joint accounts ALL of the funds are given over to the other joint holder. Her will states in the first paragraph that she wanted to give us the $10,000 as a gift, It drives me crazy that we are unable to get it!! Kelly says she is seeing a green eyed jealous monster rearing it's ugly head in me over these wills and she is SO right!! It turns out that these two ladies were worth over a MILLION dollars at their death, each one of the three families listed are going to be getting over $300,000 dollars each!! Two of these families don't even really know the ladies since the main person the ladies left the money to has now passed and their kids are going to be getting the money. Kelly my old soul says I just need to remember that is how the ladies wanted it and that is how it is to be, but DAM I could have lived the rest of the say 30 years I have left on this earth without ever having to worry about money like I have to do now each and every day of my life if I was getting that amount of money! What makes me more cranky is that $10,000 I mentioned above that we can't get and here these people didn't even know them and they are going to get their money : ( I know I am being a spoiled brat and need to just be thankful for the money I will be getting!! I just don't understand why I never seem to get the lucky breaks in life like these three families getting $300,000 from out of the blue,
Can you imagine how happy they are.....

Human Body: Pushing The Limits
We are in the process of watching another fantastic dvd series about the human body that I can't wait to tell you about, it is called "Human Body: Pushing The Limits"!! If you are studying the body this 2 dvd set is a must, the graphics are AMAZING! All I can say is we were really spellbound when watching the first dvd which covered sight & strength, I can't wait to watch the second dvd on Monday!

A Little Of This And A Little Of That
We are having a wild week already and it is only Tuesday!
My son's car broke down this morning which has set the tone for today : (
As many times as I have told him to have money set aside for car repairs he just never thinks about it happening and here we are and he only has $200.00 to his name and you know how car repair bills add up in a hurry....
On another note, I wanted to share with you a picture of our first dozen of eggs from our girls... the sad note is they decided to lay their eggs in our pump house so we added some hay to make it cozy for them which I guess they did not like and have now moved their laying to an undisclosed location. Kelly & I have been stalking the girls to see where they are going to try and find their new spot but so far no luck : (
I also wanted to share a cute picture of our man Riley snuggling in the blankets during the cold sanp we had been having, He is a Florida boy thru and thru and can't stand the cold...

Great Dvd's To Watch!!
We watched a great dvd to go with our lesson 18 in "The Mystery of History" vol 1 curriculum, "Lost Treasures of the Ancient World: Ancient China" We found it to be a very interesting and informative dvd which backed up what was mentioned in the lesson. I really like when I can find a dvd to go with the lesson it really helps Kelly remember what is being taught.
I also watched the "Forks over Knives" dvd, I enjoyed the book alot better and thought it went into much more detail, but the dvd is also so thought provoking! You honestly can not watch it without wanting to take action right away!! Kelly who was sitting away from the tv while I was watching kept commenting on it so I know it has also caught her interest. Honestly you can't hear this info and not want to do something.... It just makes so much sense to make a few diet changes to live a more healthy pain free life. We have already cut out the meat, and we have never been much for dairy so that will not be a problem for us to get rid of - Our sticking point will be sugar, We LOVE our sweets. I need to find a very basic plant based cookbook to get going on this. I have gotten a few from our library but they all have crazy ingredients that I could not afford to buy them so I really need to get a back to basic type cookbook. I'm still trying to save for "Eat Vegan on $4.00 a Day", this seems to be my type of book : 0 ) I know I sound like a broken record but please when you get a free minute read the book or watch the dvd I think you will find it fascinating!!

Inside the Living Body dvd
We finished up the "Inside the Living Body" dvd, WOW! I think everyone should get a chance to watch it!! Of course it's not ment for the younger crowd and it does have some "gross" moments but I think it would be an eye opener for every teen for sure. I have to say when they got to the body at 45 year old & then again a the 50 year old body I was really saddened.... It really hit home for me on what is now taking place in my body. It was AMAZING seeing food turn to fat, you actually see it inside the body and how it lays on and blocks many of your important body parts causing many life threatening issues! As I had mentioned Kelly is very embarrased by any of the scenes that delt with sexual awarness, reproduction ect. so we skipped over a few of those so I can't speak for the entire dvd but from what I have seen it gets my WOW factor for sure!!
