Trying To Make A Schedule

Happy Sat. to you all!
Hope everyone is enjoying the first part of the weekend.
I have been mopping the floors & doing laundry, Trying to give my home some "Lovin". I whine about doing the floors but it is sooo much easier to mop a floor that was done a few days ago instead of a major mopping. I just have to keep reminding myself that. This past week I have really tried to put myself on a schedule. I had been feeling so overwhelmed with everything and not getting anything done which made everything worse. Not this week! I have been tweeking my day to keep myself moving ex. I get up at 5am. with my husband, feed horses & get him off to work (yahoo!). I then go back to bed get up no later then 9am. that is computer time for blogging, twitter ect. Shower by 10am. pick up & clean the house. Lunch by 11am., organize stuff for the school day, during this time we also have been taking the horse for a ride or taking a brisk walk around the block. Start school anytime between 12& 1pm., end school work by 3pm. start dinner. We eat early by 4pm. most nights. Then feed horses, goats ect. walk dogs. Then I wash up all the dishes and the rest of the evening is MINE to do with what I want! What a difference making a schedule has made for me! I feel so much more refreshed and energized (of course having my husband back to work hs made me such a happy camper also!).
Now I am working on trying to get our school day to run smoother! Would like to mention a dvd series we are watching which we are enjoying. "The American President" by PBS it is a 10hr. long series but so well worth the viewing. The only problem I have seen so far for someone like Kelly is they group the presidents in groups instead of in order which makes it a bit harder to follow the flow. I fixed this problem for her by taking down out president palcemat that we had on the wall and put it by the tv so she could see where & what time frame each president held office.
Well off to give one of the dogs a bath, Real problem with fleas this year!!!
Have a FATASTIC weekend Blogger Buddies : )

What Netflix Movies Have You Enjoyed?

Kelly & I have been working on the Mayans which I have been finding to be sooo interesting! I am amazed that there hasn't been more interest in this area from archaeologist, So much of it has not be uncovered yet. Maybe not a good idea to work on a topic with a teenager where it mentions that the end of the world will be on December 21, 2012! The child is now crazed that she wants to learn how to drive before the "end of the world".... Anyway we have been hitting on a number of topics lately which have turnd out to be on the depressing side once we saw a few vidoes on them. We were working on food and watched "The Future Of Food" and it showed that now even most all of the seeds we grow our food from have been genetically altered in many ways. I had planned on watching a number of other food dvd's on that topic but it was so darn depressing we switched off to the Mayans which are saying we are all going to die on 12/21/12 Yikes! What dvd's have you all watched that you enjoyed from Netflix ? We have watched a number of the "Globe Trekker Series" some have been good others Yikes! We also started the "Modern Marvels Series", We watched "Sugar" to tie in to the food topic, that one was informative & interesting I thought. I hope to get a few more from that series. Well I am off to try and pick a few dvd's - How about the "Donner Party Journey"? Nawwww, Just joking that would just put my poor teenager into more of a depressive state.
Have a GREAT day!!!!

A Quick Feb. Wrap Up

Feb. days are just flying by... Kelly turned 16 on the 19th. I had made her a cake and my son came over. She got a parakeet... like we need another animal but that is what she wanted (we had a cage from freescycle). Her brother gave her his x-box 360 & some games which she loved. My daughter-in-law (who had to work and missed the get together) gave her a scull bracelet that Kelly had mentioned that she loved at the mall. My in-laws gave her money & so did my cousin so she used that money to buy Sims 3 for the x-box - She LOVES that game! I took a couple of pictures but Kelly said they came out bad and won't up-load them for me : (

Today is my anniversary, We have been married 26 years!!! Oh My Gosh!!! I can't belive it has been that long. There has been alot more rocky then good days but it is what it is....

Our prayers were answered today!!!! One of my husbands old bosses called him to come back to work to paint 9 houses. It might not be permanent but at least it is something, Who knows they might keep him on. I can not tell you what a load off of my shoulders this is... I was able to breath today for the first time in a long time : )

My in-laws stopped over yesterday and told us that my husbands father has been diagnosed with the start of alzhemer's. The man is like 80 years old, I would think most people of that age bracket start to show signs of alzhemer's... he now has to take medicine that costs $400 a month (not covered by his insurance). Some times I think doctors just tell these older patients things to keep them coming back.....

Now that my husband is out of the house we can finally get back to school work!!!! It has been so hard & distracting with him home, it just threw a monkey wrench in our school day.

Super Bowl Sunday!

Kelly dyed her hair! Yes, This picture is of my almost 16 year old daughter! She wants it blonder in color but right now it is more of a strawberry blonde. I just sit back and remember when my baby girl was just a tiny little thing and then you blink your eyes and they just keep getting older & older.... : (
Things are still pretty much on the scary side of not knowing what will be happening in the near future. My husband got his last unemployment check last week so there will be no more money coming in from that. He still has no leads at all on a job. The really tough part is that he is in such a depressed mood that I don't think he is really seeing how desperate things are getting. Once we run out of the unemployment money then what.... I am just praying each day that things will turn for the better. It is funny how I would never have thought in a million years that we would be in such a situation. At this time of our life (my husband is turning 50 March 1st. & I am 47) we should be just coasting and enjoying what life has to offer. I have to look at it as just another challenge we will need to get over and with Gods help I am sure we will : )
Hope everyone has a wonderful Super Bowl Sunday!!

Beautiful Weather For The Last Sunday In Jan. : )

Wow, It is down right fantastic weather here today!
It really is amazing how weather can affect your being! It is sunny & getting warmer here and things are just looking so pretty. Even our back yard where the fire ruined the 2 acres is starting to look a bit better also.

Kelly & I had a better school week this week, I do have to say taking a walk just before we sit down to do some work really helps her. We are still working on modern history, We talked about the Gulf War. I remember so vividly watching the news when that took place and hearing the air-raid sirens going off and seeing the bombs from our planes just blasting that country. I have found it is harder to cover events that are so current because you know there are so many sides to each story. But I was able to get Netflix going again (They have raised their prices!) so that will help make our days work better for Kelly also.

Speaking of Kelly she decided she wanted to dye her hair. At first she wanted to go black, I was like no way! So she bought some blonde color that didn't really work that well. My daughter-in-law is going to help her fix it some time soon. She even put make-up on! She has had no interest at all in make-up in the past even tho she is going to turn 16 Fed. 19th.. I guess since we don't mingle much with other teens her age there was never the pressure to conform to what others were doing and she is just doing it when she wants to...

As for me, When I was about 13 I fell off my bike and really ruined my front tooth. Years passed and it turned black ect. and I needed to have it removed so I had to wear a plate like thing with a tooth attached to it. Yes, You guessed it the tooth broke off! I cried! You know how depressed I have been and then to top it off I have no tooth in the front of my mouth : ( Ten years ago when I got the plate it cost $300.00, We sure didn't have that kind of money to get another one. I called around and found a dentist that would try and fix it, they did! It cost $85.00 but at least I have a tooth again : )

No luck yet with my husband finding a job. My son was hoping to get him in to the store he works at since he has been promoted to a higher position but that doesn't look like it will happen. Really not sure what we will do, can't relocate - too many homes for sale already in our area. Unemployment rate in our county was at 15.6% in Dec. so there are just so many people looking for jobs that they go like hot cakes even when one becomes available. It's like being a rock in a hard place as they say!

But as I said today is a beautiful day so things are getting better : ) Hope everyone has a great day!!!!

Jan. Is Almost Gone Already.....

Geez, The month is almost over and I have posted like once!

Kelly & I went away a few days (3 days, 2 nights) to my son & daughter-in-laws. I can not tell you how good it was to get away!!!! Since they live right across the street from the Daytona Speedway we were able to go over there for the three day testing & Pre-Season Thunder. I had a BLAST! I got to see my favorite driver Kasey Kahne! We also got a few other autographs from some other drivers. All & all a great time : )
It has been cold down here in Florida! Which has really put us in a funk again. School work has been crawling along a a snails pace! Kelly has no interest in doing any work and to be honest neither do I. We try and get at least some things done but it sure hasn't been anything worth while : ( I am sure hoping once the weather starts getting nicer our moods will change with it!
My husband has still not found any work! He runs out of unemployment next week, I don't think they are extending that any more so not sure how all that is going to go but can't worry about that - It just makes me sick with worry : (
I hope everyone is staying warm & enjoying the winter weather this year! Not!!!!

Sunday Already....

Sunday already the weeks just fly by.
I want to thank you for the responses to my electric post, I really enjoy reading your thoughts & ideas they really help!
We are still really struggling along, It's funny how I always feel so optimistic on the weekend that I have things under control for the new school week and then wham it goes out the window....
Kelly is really interested in getting a Iguana. She has been doing alot of research on the computer about them which I have been happy to see. If it were up to Kelly we would ONLY study animals. I'm not joking you, She has no interest in anything else! We just finished another look at birds which we enjoyed. Sure is sad to see all those birds dropping out of the sky dead in many areas - What's up with that!
Anyway, Has anyone had an Iguana? Could you share any info about them with me? Our library has no books on their care and not sure if this is an animals we should get into.
Hope everyone has a Wonderful Sunday!
